Your Heating & Air Co. / Comfort tips
Is a yearly A/C tune-up worth it in Texas?
In the Hill Country, an air conditioner can run from April into October. That's a lot of hours, and small problems grow fast.
What a tune-up checks
- Refrigerant pressures and temperatures
- Capacitors and contactors, the parts that fail most in summer
- Coils, drain line and filter
- Electrical connections and amp draw
Why it pays off
A weak capacitor caught in April costs far less than an emergency call in July. Clean coils use less power, and a clear drain line keeps water off your ceiling.
When to schedule
A/C in spring, heating in fall. A maintenance plan puts both on the calendar so you don't have to remember.
